I need to learn from him.... When he sees me getting ready to go he gets excited and runs to get a drink of water because it may be a long trip--God says "Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps." Ps. 85:13
When we start out, he has no idea which direction we are heading or how long the trip will be--I need to remember "Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, This is the way walk in it." Isa. 30:21
He stays close to me because he knows there is danger on the road without me--"He hold a shield to those whose walk is blameless for He guards the course of the just." Prov. 2:7
One hill is long and steep with a curve at the top. He has no idea what is in the road ahead.--"Stand at the crossroads and look...Ask where the good way is and walk in it." Jer. 16:6
When the journey is over, he knows I will lead him home.--"We walk by faith not by sight." Isa. 30:21
"He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God." Ps. 40:3
If we are willing we can receive a new song from God that arises from hardships, victories not in music notes but in fresh truths engraved in our hearts.
Praise Him If He never answers your Prayers If He never heals your disease If He never solves your financial crisis If He never reconciles your relationship If He never lifts your burden If He never eases your memories
Just exert your will and praise Him for who He is. Why? Because He deserves it. And because praise is the switch that turns on the light in the darkness of your life.
"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap." Exe. 22:20
"And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness for do not know how to pray as we should but the Spirit Himself intercedes...for the saints according to the will of God." Rom. 8:26 & 27.
I am asking prayer for the family that my daughter helped that I wrote about a couple of post back A Tender Heart. I won't be able to give alot of details for her protection but she needs so many prayers.
Pray for safe travel--possibly back to her homeland. Possibly tomorrow.
Pray for the days ahead for them. She talked to my d. and son in law and and told them that she felt empty inside and wanted what she saw in them. She asked if she could buy it for herself and her children. She was able to attend church with them and said her children have sang a beautiful song all week. She asked the children--What was the name of that song? It was "Jesus loves me". One little on kept saying "Mama, I want to go to Heaven when I die." She said me too if there is a Heaven.
They gave her a Bible with passages marked and she said she became a Christian. She said she read the entire Bible during this week. She wasn't able to keep the Bible and returned it to them. They have talked to her and tried to communicate what this means in a way she could understand. Pray she did. She was concerned that God would be mad at her because she wouldn't be able to share her faith with others. They explained that are like His children and He love us.
I told her there is one verse that says, "Greater is He that in us than He that is in the world." She said that is beautiful. Pray she remembers that in the days ahead.
We are so blessed. We can have a Bible in every room, on our phone, our computer and playing on cds in the car. The thought that I couldn't pick it up for special verse I am trying to remember would be heartbreaking.
They were the sweetest family. I cry as I think of them. The older one telling silly jokes because it made us laugh. Taking them home and we didn't have seat belts for all of them. So some rode where the third seat would be. She had them duck down when she saw blue lights and we didn't realize they stayed down. Later a little voice said, "Mama can we look now"... Thankful for any thing you did. I am grateful for God giving us the opportunity to meet them.
My d. (daughter) has always had a tender heart, a heart for the down and out, and it is exciting to see God work through her This week there was an incident that I could see God using that tender heart. She had gone downtown for a job interview. She had prayed if the job wasn't for her for God to make it plain to her and He did. She wasn't ready to work that far away from the kids and other reasons. So she was driving home thinking of her day wasted and going through a rough area of town. She was talking to me on the phone and exclaimed, " Oh Mom, there is a mom and three little children standing in the rain at the bus stop and homeless men wandering all around her." Being the spiritual example that I am, I quickly said, "Don't let them in the car with you. You don't know anything about them." She said "I won't" then I heard, "Ma'am, are you okay?" In her ear, I am reminding her again, "it could be a trick". She said "let me call you back" and I am saying no as she hangs up (you never quit being a mother). When she called me back (and I can get off my knees praying in Costco--not really but I should have) she had the lady's story. She was catching a bus to the store for milk. So my d. told her to stay there and was would get the milk and bring it back. She found out the lady and 7 children are from a small town in a northern state and was here for one child to have a kidney transplant. The mom was making trips for post-treatments for the child during the month of March and the husband had to stay up north and work. That night my d. tried to order pizza for them because she was worried about if they had dinner. No one would deliver in that area. So her husband took the pizzas to their place and his heart got in picture also. We have since helped them out with some money and supplies. But here is the great part---my d. was talking to her and the woman asked where she went to church. She told her and the woman said she would like to find one nearby she could attend. They will be picking her this Sunday and taking her and her 7 to their church. They have a Bible to give to her. Pray for this family and for everyone's protection. That job interview wasn't by accident. God knew of a tender heart and used it for His glory.
Eph. 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do." (From Beth Moore-Fruits of the Spirit)--Our works were assigned in advance. He saved us and left us here because He has work, very specific work. He has a mission to accomplish for kingdom gain in every generation all planned in advance & perfectly timed. If we miss our ministry, we will miss our entire purpose in remaining here.
