There are two old barns in our area that I always wanted to stop and take a few pictures of them. The snow gave me the reason.
During the cold and rainy times of your life, God has shown Himself to be a safe warm, dry shelter. So you can trust Him now for whatever you need.
In His strong tower, you are removed from the enemy’s battle below. You are protected from attack, safe from harm. Peter Wallace
You are a strong tower, where I am safe from my enemies. Ps. 61:3

ReplyDeleteThe drive from my house to my sisters is about 90 miles. Mostly through farm land. Sometimes the barns are the only color on the horizon...and a sight for sore eyes. These are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos. I also love old barns - plan to take a series of photos of some soon. In a visit to Tennessee several years ago, I was impressed by many of the old barns we saw.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog header, also.
Blessings,
Joan

Hello! First time visitor to your blog - I found you via Spiritual Sundays! I just started reading a book called "The Shelter of God's Promises" and your scripture selection goes perfectly with the theme of the book! Love the barn photos - I've never seen a green barn before!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
Such a wonderful verse of comfort and peace. Those amazing old barns are such a good reminder of shelter in a storm. Beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteEspecially love the green barn--don't see that color on a barn too often. Thankful for our strong tower, too!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been memorizing Psalm 91 lately: “His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” There is such “strong” imagery in Psalms: refuge; fortress; etc. Thanks for sharing this one, Brenda. He is our strong tower!
ReplyDeleteHi Brenda,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these winter pictures from where you live. I need to remind myself that God is a strong tower and shelter for me.

ReplyDeleteCame by the Inspiritation Sunday blog hop.
I love the pictures of the barns. They look especially beautiful in the snow. I traveled with my mother across the United States a couple of years ago and we took pictures of old barns all the way. They have a special meaning to me. I like the way you related them to being a safe place...like God being our strong tower. Thank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful the barns are! humble but beautiful - a suggestion of self sufficiency and comfort all in that one place I think. In the UK people buy barns up and convert them into houses!
ReplyDeletesuch lovely words and photos to share.
