Reach My Goal

“…I will reach my goal. In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day.” (Luke 13:32b-33)
This was Jesus’ reply to Herod’s threat of death to Him. Isn’t it comforting to know that nothing can stop Jesus from reaching His goal in our lives. When we live our lives according to God’s will, no Herod in the world can thwart our efforts at reaching God’s goal either. Not a Herod of sickness nor a Herod of crisis. Not even a Herod that seems to hand us over to death. When our lives are surrendered to the authority of Jesus Christ, our Herods may be used only as puppets to bring about the will of God, but they pose no threat to the plan.

“Now when they have finished their testimony… (Rev. 11:7)
Death cannot come to the obedient children of God until they have finished their testimony. Strengthened by His power and shielded by His protection, we will reach our goal. (from Beth Moore’s “Jesus the One and Only”

In any case, I must keep going today and tomorrow
and the next day.

  1. We often get so caught up in our own agenda; its our sinful nature not to submit to God's will. Oh but when we do, great things happen!

  5. Love Beth Moore but haven't read this. I've heard the quote "We must keep on keeping on." So thankful God is always with us to give us strength.
