This is My Father's World

 This is my Father's world,
         and to my listening ears
         all nature sings, and round me rings
         the music of the spheres.
         This is my Father's world:
         I rest me in the thought
         of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
         his hand the wonders wrought.
 This is my Father's world,
         the birds their carols raise,
         the morning light, the lily white,
         declare their maker's praise.
         This is my Father's world:
         he shines in all that's fair;
         in the rustling grass I hear him pass;
         he speaks to me everywhere.
 This is my Father's world.
         O let me ne'er forget
         that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
         God is the ruler yet.
         This is my Father's world:
         why should my heart be sad?
         The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
         God reigns; let the earth be glad!

  3. I haven't seen anything this beautiful around here this fall. I've been so disappointed. But I do agree, My Father's Word causes me to sing. I love the song learned in my childhood. It's still one I love to hear.

  6. You live in such a beautiful place! We have never spent much time in Tennessee...sadly we pass thru on those long drives to Florida...I remember looking out the window and seeing the beautiful hills and rivers valleys and wishing we could stop...

  8. Thanks Lisa. Anita we did have some pretty colors here but West Tennessee is not near as pretty as Middle and East Tennessee.
    Florida seems a long way from Tn. so I bet it really does from your area.

    I'm a singer and we sang a wonderful version of that song when I was in high school so you just brought back some pretty amazing memories for me.
